What kind of yoga do you do?
We present yoga based upon the methodology of international yoga master B.K.S. Iyengar. This form of hatha yoga emphasizes proper alignment, supported by props, to ensure a safe practice that promotes well being on all levels. (back to top)
How experienced are your teachers?
All of our teachers have graduated from, or are enrolled in, a multi-year Advanced Studies Teacher Training Program. We also require of them intensive ongoing continuing education, monthly study group participation and peer review. (back to top)
Which class is best for me?
That depends upon your current level of fitness, your prior yoga experience, and your intention for coming to yoga. We recommend a Level 1 class for people who simply want to come to yoga once a week to stretch out, strengthen and relax, or who are new to yoga or new to Iyengar yoga. If you have recent Iyengar yoga experience, live a non-sedentary life-style, and want a more challenging class with a wider variety of poses, then we recommend a Level 2 class. A Level 3 class would be appropriate for those students with several years experience in Iyengar yoga who maintain a regular home practice. Please contact a teacher with your specific questions or concerns. We’re happy to help you find a class that’s a match for you, even if it’s at another studio. We want your experience of yoga to be enjoyable, profound, inspiring and long lasting. (back to top)
When can I start?
You can join a class at any point in the term. You don’t have to wait for the next term to begin. You’ll simply pay a prorated fee for the remainder of classes in a term. (back to top)

What do I wear?
Please wear comfortable fitting clothing which allows free movement. Whatever you wear should clearly show the outline of your hips, knees and ankles so your teacher can see your alignment and help you practice safely. For the comfort of others, please do not wear perfume, essential oils or dangling jewelry to class. Changing rooms are available. (back to top)
What do I need to bring?
Please bring an empty stomach and clean feet. We have all the props you’ll need at the studio, though some students prefer to bring their own yoga mat. (back to top)
How should I eat before class?
Generally speaking, yoga is best done on an empty stomach. We recommend eating a light meal 2 hours before class, if you’re hungry. We all live in different bodies with different needs, so if you require food closer to the starting time of class then by all means eat. Traditionally, yogis wait 4 hours after a meal to do their practice. (back to top)
What if I miss a class?
If you miss a class then you may make up your missed classes at any other class offered by your teacher during the current term which is appropriate for your skill level. Please contact your teacher to make sure there will be space for you.
Note that you may also do a make-up in any of these offerings...
Saturdays, 9:30am, Levels 1&2 with Mindy
Tuesdays, 9:30am, Level 1 with Kay
Fridays, 9:30am, Core Strength 1 with Kay
You may make-up a maximum of 2 clases in the above offerings per term. Make up the remainder of your missed classes with your regular teacher. You may not carry over missed classes into the next term, nor will a refund be issued for missed classes. Also know that you can make up your missed classes in advance, if you know when you’ll be gone. You can also bring a friend to class to use your missed-class credit! (back to top)
When can I move from Level 1 to Level 2?
Please speak with your teacher about your intent to change levels. They will be happy to discuss it with you. Generally speaking, when moving from a Level 1 class to a Level 2 class, you should have integrated the basic alignment principles of the standing poses and be able to comfortably remain in them for 45 seconds to a minute. You should be comfortable and strong in your abdominal work to ensure that you have the proper low back support for the more challenging poses in Level 2. (back to top)
When can I move from Level 2 to Level 3?
Please speak with your teacher about your intent to change levels. They will be happy to discuss it with you. Generally speaking, when moving from a Level 2 class to a Level 3 class, you should be able to comfortably sustain the all standing poses for 60 to 90 seconds with proper alignment, do a 120 second downward dog, and feel comfort-able and grounded in the foundations and practice of the inversions. (back to top)
Can I drop-in and try out a class?
Of course! Just be sure to contact the teacher of the class you’d like to attend at least 24 hours in advance, so they have time to confirm that space will be available for you. (back to top)
